Villino Villadorata is a summer residence built by the noble family Nicolaci in Noto
Villino Villadorata is a summer residence built by the noble family Nicolaci of Villadorata on the hill of San Corrado Fuori Le Mura, not far from the city of Noto, in order to enjoy a cooler and windy climate rather than the summer heat of the city. From the hill on which the villa stands, Prince Nicolaci also loved to admire the view that stretches from the inside of the island towards the site of the ancient part of Noto, up to the oasis of Vendicari and the island of Capo Passero, the farthest southeast point of Sicily. Villino Villadorata was designed by architect Francesco Cassone for Prince Corrado Nicolaci and his wife Cecchina Cannizaro. In fact, on the main façade, it is possible to see the coats of arms of the two Houses.
